Sub Internship - Family Medicine

The family medicine sub-internship, often referred to as the fourth-year clerkship, is a four-week program featuring two weeks in our residency clinic and two weeks on the family medicine inpatient service. This sub-internship allows fourth-year medical students to take on the responsibilities of a resident physician, working closely under supervision as they care for patients in both inpatient and outpatient environments. Students enhance their clinical decision-making skills, experience the full spectrum of family medicine, and benefit from a focus on continuity of care, direct patient responsibility, and teamwork within an interdisciplinary group—all providing an authentic glimpse into residency life with Family Medicine Residency Spokane.

We do not require an application if you are a student with UW, WSU or PNWU. Please reach out to your clerkship coordinator to get in touch with us.

Applications are accepted between December – end of February.
